National Tartan Day Tournament - Burnaby

Comox Valley Combat Guild Instructor Chad Herbert will be attending the National Tartan Day Tournament, hosted by Blood and Iron Burnaby.

This is a practice single stick tournament in preparation for the Victoria Highland Games.

The $25 dollar entry fee includes a standard issue rattan stick to keep, and provides funding towards buying more equipment for the salle.

This event will be streamed on Blood and Iron's YouTube channel. Links will be posted on this event page.

Single stick Rules:
All skin must be covered.
No thrusting.
No throws.
No hitting to the spine or back of the head.
No competing under the influence.
Any violations to the above rules will result in a disqualification.

All matches will conclude after either 9 points have been scored by a fighter, or 1 minute 30 seconds of fighting time has passed plus a “last exchange.”
A last exchange is an extended period of fighting. A last exchange will be called after 1 minute and 30 seconds of fighting time, and lasts until a point is scored.
Points:
4 head
3 torso
2 legs
1 arms
4 disarm
-1 after-blow
1 point to your opponent if you touch out of bounds.
3 doubles and your match will be forfeited in the pools.
After 3 doubles in the elimination ladder an escalating point deduction will be applied to your next fight. -1 for your third, -3 for your fourth, -5 for your fifth etc...

Coaching is encouraged.
